THE GOOD
Excellent image quality on Blu-ray discs and DVDs; HDMI 1.3 output; Ethernet jack to upgrade firmware; more movies available on Blu-ray than HD DVD.
THE BAD
Expensive; ongoing format war makes some titles unavailable on Blu-ray; no support for Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio.
THE BOTTOM LINE
With excellent image quality, slick design and an attractive feature set the Samsung BD-P1200 is the best dedicated Blu-ray player yet, but its high price will scare away most buyers.

This has to be the worst thing I've had to deal with. Weeks upon weeks of promised updates with no rollout or even a clear statement of when it will happen. Phone support people help you. Just keep promising that "an update will be out next week.... read more »
