Apple made this thing simple for a reason, I spent 300$ on a Zen vision M and I love it but I do not want to break it when I go work out. This Ipod shuffle is perfect plug and play, clips to my t-shirt and doesnt get in my way when I run. I load the songs I want to listen to and I could care less about. My roomate went out and got one right after I did for snowboarding. Bottom line if I break it Im out 79$Updated
I had a couple of typos in my review hehe, what i meant to say was if your looking for a lot of features then dont buy this player. Also if you dont care about song order, the this is a good little player.
That is all sorry bout the typos. -

The ipod shuffle is easy to use which makes this a good mp3 player for working. Unfortunately the clip that comes with the shuffle does not hold very strong and you are at risk of the shuffle falling off. The ear phones that come with the shuffle are not much better as they do not seem to fit most peoples ear (other friends have the same problem) the sound quality is horrible as you have to adjust the volume for each song that is played you really tend to either stop what you are doing or just wait until the next song. the shuffle only works with iTunes which requires QuickTime to be installed. Quick time is a slow loading application and you will defiantly notice a difference when starting your computer. One warning is that the pin on the charger will break and because apples warranty does not cover anything (all accidental damage which for some odd reason everything seems to be) you will be stuck either buying a new charger ($30 US) almost half the price for the shuffle or buy a new mp3 player. Also the battery does not last forever and apple will charge you if you want them to replace it (why not use AAA's). In my opinion I would have been better off spending my money on a mp3 player that uses (AA or AAA) then this otherwise like me you will end up with a useless piece of metal that may look nice. -

I like it, It's not good for carrying alot of music, but for a little bit of music you can quickly grab and go with it's a nice little toy. -

Being a long time user of iPod's (I own every single one that has been released), I throughly enjoy the shuffle. It is simple, small, and GREAT for working out. I especially enjoyed the first gen shuffle and now this is even better because it is smaller, lighter, and clips onto anything.
While some may say it is difficult to navigate music...well that is truly for the absent minded. Consider it is the user who syncs music, anyone would have at least a general sense of the order of songs and if not, you KNOW the name of the song. Now, considering there is a play list option, it should not be hard to find that particular song.
Second, the shuffle option. This is the whole point of the product. You are not supposed to navigate for your songs, it shuffles and navigates for you. I find that with my 5G iPod, I tend to listen to the same song over and over because I can find it easily, yet with the shuffle I welcome a new song using the shuffle feature. Plus, the shuffle feature is great for when jogging/working out because it is VERY uncomfortable using the other iPod's simply because of their size and weight.
Overall, the product is great, but there is one short fall when compared to the 1st gen shuffle and that is the lack of an easy USB sync. I used the 1st gen shuffle for music and files, espeically when at school/work giving presentions, but now, I just the 1st gen shuffle purely for files. It would have been nice if the 2nd gen shuffle had this, but not necessary...however, I do question the choice of when syncing the iPod, it has to be synced upside down...
As I said in the beginning, for what the Shuffle is said to do, it does it very well. -

For less money you can buy the Creative Nano which is a little larger (thus easier to use), has better sound, an LCD, Integrated FM tuner, voice/FM recording, and line-in encoding. With it's simple drag and drop interface you can store data files such as photos and presentations. -
