Much like you hear in reviews all the time, I shopped around for an HDTV for years. I would have pulled the trigger sooner, but my wife was in the way :) Luckily for her, because the new model came out and after a few glasses of wine and a tax return she was on board. I have an XBOX 360, and I can't tell you how great these games look on the TV. Madden (in 1080p) is incredible, especially since I played it for almost a full year on a standard def. GTA IV (in 720p) is simply awesome. I bought this TV about a month after GTA IV, and the difference is night and day. I was going to save some money and get a Vizio 42 inch, because at the local gamer shop I thought it looked great, but boy was I wrong. Now I just have to convince my wife that we need to switch from digital cable to a dish network for more HD channels. Speaking of which, these shows look so realistic. I was watching Deadliest Catch on Discovery HD, and after a couple drinks I thought I was on the damn ship. Go out and get this TV!!!

Purchased a Digital-lifestyles TV from HSN. TV was OK but the operator's manual and customer service was horrible. Returned Digital Lifestyles TV and purchased the Samsung. Overall very happy with this TV. Wanted the additional picture-in-picture feature.
This function works OK but you have to go to too many menu steps to change to the PIP then you have to go thru another set of menu steps to get the sound on the PIP. Almost makes this feature unusable. Was hoping for a single button to switch back and forth so I can view my preferences when my wife's show is on commercial. I checked the remotes of other TV's, (Sony, Toshiba) and they did not have a one button PIP toggle button either. Other than that it's a great TV with a great picture. Glad I traded in my HSN Digital Lifestyles set. I left three messages with customer service and I still haven't heard from them.

I had to replace our 32 in. Phillips Plasma from 2002 when it stopped powering on. The picture was great on the old plasma but repairs were as much as a new set. I was set on getting a newer larger plasma because of deep blacks and wide viewing angles. The 42 in. Panasonic's received positive reviews so I was set on getting one... until I saw the picture on the 600 Samsung series. At each local electronics store, the picture on the Samsungs' were noticeably superior to any one of the dozens of tvs mounted on the walls. I got a very good price with a Sony Blu-ray player bundled in at a discount and brought the Samsung home. The picture is even better at home hooked up to Time Warner HD. SD picture is far more superior to my old plasma. I hooked up the Sony Blu ray and watched Spiderman 3. My jaw dropped! The picture is so great that it almost distracts you from the movie plot/ story line! Incredible contrast, color, deep blacks, and detail even during fast motion scenes. I found myself halfway through the movie and had to rewind the film because I didn't understand what what going on in the plot. I was so mesmerized by the picture! I am not new to HD. I have owned an HD set since 2002. The Samsung 600 series exceeds all expectations. I was hesitant on switching from plasma to LCD, but I am more that satisfied. My neighbor bought a Sony Bravia W series and paid $350 more than I did for the Samsung. He wishes he would have considered the Samsung after seeing it. I've enjoyed this set for over 2 months now and I am still impressed. Only cons are my old plasma had wider viewing angles and the remote is average. The stand swivels which makes the smaller viewing angles less of an issue and I'm now using a universal remote. If you see this Samsung on sale, I strongly recommend it. Especially if you plan on getting Blu-ray.

The first thing I did when I picked up this TV was calibrate the screen per instructions on CNET, but the picture before and after was really great. Sound was much better than I expected and the TruSurround is awesome. The 3 pre-programmed viewing modes allow me to move from gaming mode, to sports mode to movie mode adjusting preferences for each preset. Just change it to movie mode where the screen dims a bit since movies are usually watched in the evening and surround sound is turned on. Really easy to use the remote with one-touch style buttons to change picture size from 4:3 to 16:9 and even to get internet feeds of weather, news or stocks delivered right on screen while you are watching any program.

Some reviewers have complained that the red hue in the frame does not work, but I really like it. And the red is only a touch of color as an accent and certainly does not overwhelm the TV.

I picked up this online at a very reasonable price and I am very happy with my purchase.

An amazing looking television! Piicture quality, performance, style, this tv has it all. Excelent for gaming and blu-ray movie viewing. A bit of glare and a fairly high price tag add to the cons, but an overall excellent tv.

This series of Samsung is everything I hoped for in terms of visual quality. The colours and contrasts are great even with the default settings. And if you don't like how it came there are abundant options to play with.

However, my TV unfortunately suffers from an annoying aesthetic issue regarding the plastic frame around the TV. After about a months use the front cabinet which frames the viewing area (ie: that beautiful red bevel) started coming off away from the main TV! I couldn't stand for this in a brand new TV which after taxes cost more than 2 grand. One would think this issue would be easy to fix yet I have been very frustrated with the pace of the technical support from Samsung. Over a month now since the problem was reported to them and only now are they going to try to replace the cabinet frame. I want my TV back or gimme a new one!

In one of my other reviews, I wrote how disappointed I was in the Sony Bravia KDL-40W100. I was so disappointed that I returned it and swapped it for this one. Let me just say that there is NO comparison between the two. I wrote in the Bravia review that it had nice pretty colors but it truly lacked definition. This TV does not. It has bright pretty colors and it has great definition. The 120HZ motion brings the flick to life with four different settings.

It might be a lil pricey but compared to it's competitors that is priced the similarly. This unit schools them and then some. I am just thrilled about this TV. Beautiful, just beautiful Samsung.

This TV is even better than I thought. It looks great in my home now that it is mounted! The picture quality is better than any TV I have seen. For the money - this is the TV to buy!
