Pleased with the HD channels on satelite and HD video games. Picture is very clear and the color is great. It is noticealby blury/grainy with standard def channels. Caution buying this TV at absolute lowest price. One vendor tried to sell me a 6' HDMI cable for nearly $300. After i declined to buy the cable, i was informed that the price they advertised is not the RETAIL version, so i would have to buy the stand for it at price of nearly, $300. Do your research and purchase wisely. Note Pioneer will not warantee from unauthorized distributors. However, i was able to purchase a warantee from an idependant electronics warantee provider. All in all, if you have several HD channels available in your area, this is the TV you will want to have. -

An absolutely beautiful TV. If you want to save some money, get the 42 or 50 inch version. If you're willing to spend the money, the extra 10 (or 18) inches might be worth it.
I used to be convinced that Sonys LCoS rear projection like the XBR1 (or 2) would be the way to go. But when compared with the superior performance of Pioneer's 70HD series, not to mention the amazing style, this set is worth a little extra cash.
Not having true 1080p resolution may be more of an issue in a few years when there are more 1080p sources. If you are patient, you may want to consider waiting for a top quality 1080p set to come out (none of the 1080p sets thus far have performed very well), but for the next few years there is little practical difference.
HOWEVER if you are trying to save money, the Sony 60XBR1 or smaller Pioneer 5070HD provides great quality the price. -

I bought the TV for $2993 at Sam's Club. One of the reasons I preferred this TV was because it had a USB port for external memory hook-up (want to use it as a giant digital photo frame). Unfortunately, the "Home Gallery" feature (similar to Panasonic's "Gallery Player") is limited in it's features: does not read all files, renders an ugly blue border for all pictures (why not BLACK at least!), has no background music option. -

IMHO The Pioneer PDP-6070 is way over priced compared to what's out there. Panasonic Sharp and LG have comparable models in which LG is acutally a better picture than Pioneer and is on average $350-$500 cheaper. Plus LG has a superior warranty (3years Vs. 1year).
