THE GOOD
Proxy servers create anonymous e-mail, chat, and newsgroup sessions; easy to use; good help system; nice phone support.
THE BAD
Tools are inflexible and can slow Internet access.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Your identity is safe with Anonymizer, but its yearly subscription fee is less attractive than Steganos Anonym's onetime price.

While Anonymizer changes the visible IP address, it only provides (as far as I saw) two different IP addresses. This provides limited anonymity in that posts from one of these two IPs will soon leave their own trail.

The company is using Plimus as their e-commerce provider and they do not seem to have a good system in place. Payments go through and accounts are set up and then they drop the account because they can not retrieve payment information.

I experience poor support from the vendor. Configuration was not straight forward. Internet connection became very slow after installation, note that I have broadband at 4.5mbps. Within 3 hours of signing up for the service, their servers went down.... read more »
