I was disappointed.
McAfee Spam Killer deleted good mail and left some spam mail.
Difficult to manage.
Poor response from McAfee Support.
Removed the product and used Outlook Rules Wizard to select good mail. -

The problem with missing email is that you don't know that you are missing it until someone asks you about an email you never received. SpamKiller apparently decides what email is "Spam" and then deletes it from your email program and from your POP server. I'm missing 2-4 weeks of email. After three hours with tech support (and supervisor) I was told, "Sorry. It can't be recovered." Try QURB shareware. It works great and at least offers the suspected Spam emails to you so YOU can decide. I'm removing all McAfee software! -

STNKO! I don't know if there is a BUG or what but as long as my computer was on, it
would redial (my ISP) again and again and again, even when I was making a telephone call. I had to race it to dial my ISP myself.
The only way to stop it was to take the telephone off the hook and let the line go dead. I finally uninstalled it and cancelled the subscription. -

When I first purchased this product it was working well. Even those email messages that weren't spam could be retrieved from the junk folder database. However, a recent online upgrade caused a different problem altogether. I'm no longer able to rescue emails without an error message and the subsequent deletion of the target email. McAfee support gave me the std stop/restart of the McAfee spamkiller server process in the windows services admin. This do not work. Next I was told to reload the spamkiller which worked for a few days until the ugly problem resurfaced. I left emails with support and I have yet to receive a reply. This prompts me to look for another product. -

Its annoying when a virus slips into your PC and destroys data. Its galling when you pay $70 for some of the same -

SpamKiller is working great, I have only had about two spam messages that have gotten through its tough filter out of hundreds, and getting rid of them is easy, there is a block button in Outlook, select the message, click the Block button, and its gone. Checking if McAfee blocked a message you wanted is a different story however, to see what has been blocked or to allow blocked messages, you must open SpamKiller's window by clicking a little button in the top of outlook, navigating to "blocked messages", selecting the message you want, and clicking Allow. A great feature is you can import your address book and SpamKiller will never block messages from those people, so you won't have to go into the program and allow the messages from your friends that McAfee may have blocked. I got it because it integrates with McAfee SecurityCenter which makes it easier to view all of your security programs (such as VirusScan, Personal Firewall, or Privacy Service-if you use McAfee) in one place. -

SpamKiller automatically updated itself to version 6.1.06 on my system, and since then, every few minutes a little pop-up message complains that it cannot connect to the Internet. Well, I have a dial-up connection, so of course it can't. If you make the mistake of clicking the "go away" button, the message pops up again in a few minutes--and this goes on forever. Disabling the program doesn't help. The best work-around I've found is moving the message off to the side and NOT clicking the "go-away" button. I tried the e-mail technical support on this, and they've been ignoring my pleas for a week. The program may work okay for a fast Internet connection, but don't buy it if you dial up.Updated
This is an update to my earlier review of SpamKiller. The automatic update feature of SpamKiller installed version 6.1.07 yesterday, and the problem with incessant pop-up announcements that it couldn't connect to the Internet are gone. I still have a problem with e-mail-based tech support, as I still have never heard back from them from my March 30 plea for help on this issue. (It's April 10 as I write this.) But the software is now appears to be behaving well. -

I have never used a product by a major name like McAfee and had it operate so poorly as this. It does not integrate to Outlook. It keeps some email from ever getting to outlook. Even ones you want. The install took 2 times to work correctly. The rescue feature failed ever time I attempted it. The only good thing to say, is they gave me my money Back!
