overview

THE GOOD
Pauses live TV; controls cable and satellite boxes; built-in video- and photo-networking features allow live video streaming between units; convenient ShowNav program navigation; digital audio and progressive-scan video outputs.

THE BAD
No more program sharing over the Internet; can't record two shows simultaneously; can't stream MP3 audio.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Multiroom video streaming and third-party PC software make the ReplayTV 5500 series a worthwhile alternative to TiVo for advanced DVR users.
