Got this phone for my Mom (85 yrs old). Every time she picked up the phone to answer it, she would hit the volume bar on the side and turn off the ringer. This happened every day. After a few weeks, I returned to Verizon. I ended up buying a replacement battery for her old Samsung 650. Now she is happy and can hear her phone ringing. -

We have had Verizon for years and years and have been looking for a Verizon phone that was easy to use and designed with us seniors in mind (like the Jitterbug). We loved the large letters on the Coupe display and the sound quality is fine. However anytime we handle the phone to flip open or closed, we hit the volume key, which is very poorly placed and sensitive. In addition, the outer LCD died and we are getting a run-around about getting it fixed. Apparently because we bought from a private kiosk (but it was not labeled as non-Verizon-corporate), Verizon corporate takes no responsibility for the phone (or apparently for the customer service). -

Nice idea, a simple phone. BAD execution. The 911 key is next to the END key. Two older people I had try it could not keep their fingers off the side mounted volume controls. This made the ringer go low or to vibrate. Also, no volume when they needed the phone. Cannot use Backup Assistant. Sound quality is bad. Bring back the
LG VX3200, or 3450 and get rid of side mounted volume controls. Who is their target audience? While you're at it, make it send/receive better too. -

DON't BUY IT, unless you're an idiot. -

I needed a phone for an internship without a camera and this was the only phone in stock.
The sound quality was marginal at best and the speaker phone is very garbled. The one thing I hate about the phone is its buttons on the side.
I keep my phones in my pocket and at random times times I would hear "please say a name or shortcut". The volume rocker is also super sensitive and the phone will not stay in vibrate mode if you put in your pocket -

Just purchased for my spouse, who prefers to keep things simple. Haven't really used it too much yet, but my first impression is that it's just a so-so phone. When we first turned on the phone, the Verizon signature music sounded sick. Brought the phone back to the store, and was told "All the Coupes sound that way." And he let me listen to another phone start up. He was right. Then, I set up the battery charger and found that the phone uses a unique connector for charging. It doesn't use the USB-type connector. I had a hard time attaching the charger cord to the cradle. Had to push harder than I expected, to make the connection. When you're trying to keep things simple, why would you design a phone with a non-standard connector? And one that is difficult to use!? Next, I started adding contacts and saw the "picture" field. Looked in the manual. It says pictures in the phone via EMS can be added to contacts. What is EMS??? Enhanced Messaging Service. The phone can't handle multimedia messaging, so what are they talking about?
So farm -- I'm not impressed. Holding on to the old phone just in case this one has to go back. -

Poor quality phone. Must charge every day because the battery doesn't hold a charge. Cannot lock phone. -

Wanted a phone without a lot of BS features. This is it. This 60 plus senior Dad found the phone simple to use, and easy to read outside. More important, it was simple to teach my 4 year old son how to use the ICE (in case of emergency) key feature, in case Daddy had a problem. Now, if we are out and about --- no problem. Grandparents who are caregivers for children should give this phone consideration. If you want a bunch of non phone features this is not the phone for you. -

I thought this phone was answer to my prayers for my mother, a stroke victims. She has difficulty using the phone, always turning the volume down. To small to hold in her hand. Phone should be larger for the elderly.
