I switched from Cingular last november.I wanted a KRZR but I wasn't about to goback to Verizon. My service with Sprint has been solid. No dead zones, just 2 weak areas.Even when only 1 bar is on the screen my calls are clear and don't drop. The roaming area is large enough that I don't worry about if I will be stuck somewhere without it.The big plus with Sprint over Cingular and Verizon is that those 2 companies have complete dead zones. No service what so ever.I havn't run into this problem with Sprint. If the area is weak,I can just set my phone to roam only and use the services just like I would on there own network.I haven't used all of the internet features yet.I have used the tv and I use Opera mini and gmail everyday.I know some people complain about Sprint but I don't see why. Maybe they have a crappy phone.I don't know.I am happy.

Ok, I know this is a Sprint review and some are going to flam me for saying I like Verizon but I do. But! I love Sprint. Let me explain. Sprint has free roaming. 100 precent free voice and web roaming. at home i can set my phone to roam on Alltel's network. when out of state at college I can roam on Verizon's network. So the way I look at it is that I get Sprint-Verizon-Alltel network access for one price. When I am in some dorm rooms there is no Sprint service, but there is Verizon. At home in Georgia while in some of the rural areas and sometimes on Dixie Highway I roam on Alltel's network. Since I can use all of the voice features and web features while roaming, I get the best of all three networks. I sometimes set my phone to roam just for the h@ll of it. Sometimes I set it to roam because Sprint's web access might be running slow. The fact that I can roaming for free is the reason I have used to switch my entire family to Sprint. To me I see things in a logical way. Why would I ever need to go with Verizon or Alltel when I can use their networks for free?
At this point in time I don't even see any other cell phone company. As long as Sprint keeps letting me roam for free then I'm going to stay for as long as I live!

Store personel are not enabled to help. Phone personel cannot help and claim no one can.
If you are out of contract the "retention" department have some latitude but still lack real ability to assist.
Investor relations claim they are concerned about churn....but they lie too. They claim all of their problems revolve around integrating Nextel in to Sprint.
Their bigger problem is not caring for current customers. That is sad too.

I recenlty reviewed our bill and found they added charges we never asked for. We have had this contract since 2002 but last July they added to my wife's phone internet and text messaging. I called and said she never used it
They are hostile and mean, The supervisor was meaner. I called later and asked when my plan ended
Lucky for me it ended in June so maybe this next person was nicer because of this
After 5 people I finally got my credit
but it took a lot to get a credit for something I never asked for in the first place and for sure my wife never asked for

They even know we never used it
I felt like they could just do anything to me even
    It was like being raped
a big gorrila can force things on you even if they were not fair

I am disappointed with Sprint because of this
I just wanted them to be fair

I signed up with Sprint in 97, the first year they offered PCS coverage in Philadelphia. I was attracted to the $75 for 1500 minute plan they were offering at the time and I was a satisfied customer ever since. Then last year I decided to give Nextel a try. They offered free incoming minutes, which I later found out the PCS side could offer and they multiple business lines, plus the direct connect which at 1st seemed useful and now I hardly use at all. I also assumed that since Nextel was a part of Sprint everything else would pretty much the same. Was I ever wrong. From the first day I had the phone until current, my Nextel experience has been a nightmare. More drop calls than I can count, poor reception in and around Philadelphia, poor voice quality from the incoming calls and finally complete service shut down. I tried to resolve these issues with Nextel to no avail. No credit for dropped calls, which Sprint PCS will give up to a $5.00 credit per month. I tried to switch back to Sprint and they would only offer me a 2 year plan and no credit for the phone. Even though I would remind them I was a 10 year customer that didn't matter. My contract is up at the end of this month and unfortunately I am going to drop them like a bad habit. Verizon or T-Mobile are the carriers I am considering. To to sum it up if you are considering Sprint make sure you are getting the PCS side, not Nextel.

Nearly any change to your account will result in your contract period (2 yrs) automatically restarting. It happened when I changed my number when I moved, when I filed a claim for a replacement handset, and several other times. My account was charged local taxes from a city I hadn't lived in in years, and it took a supervisor and multiple calls to customer service to remove and refund the charges. Customer service was incapable of providing an explanation of the "fees" and taxes that are charged to each account, and a CSR from Canada even went so far as to state that he could give a breakdown of Canadian taxes, but would have no idea what taxes would be in the States. How does a company as large as Sprint have such trouble staffing call centers with reps that can answer simple questions? Hold times for customer service frequently was 15-20 minutes. One supervisor told me that CSR employee turnover was 96%, meaning that nearly every employee in customer service changed every year, leaving us with inexperienced people to assist us. Unbelievable! Set aside 30-45 minutes for any call you need to make to customer service for simple requests, and 45-60 minutes for complicated issues. Write down and keep the name of the person you spoke to and the time and date for reference. Lastly, ignore their claims that they have addressed their staffing issues within the last few years, as I have been told this several times over the years and found it to not be accurate. Try Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T.

I've had cell service with sprint for almost 7 years. I finally dropped them becasue of the lack of basic customer service not provided by their reps. Their service reps are not knowledeable and often rude! I swiched over to ATT and it's amazing the difference.

I have been a customer for 11 years. Some of you may ask how that can be possible. Well, I worked for the comapny when it was known as Sprint Spectrum. Bask then, they actually had a GSM network and they sold that off when they switched to CDMA after becoming Sprint PCS. These guys were the first PCS service in the country. In any event, they have always taken care of me and the service is the best based on what my friends deal with from other carriers. If you do a simple stare and compare of plans by value as a function of mintues, data and pricing you will see that they are just flat out the best option. Now if you live an an area where they don'r provide coverage, then please look at another provider instead of just hopinh the service will be ok. Like all providers, they have areas of strong and weak coverage and areas where they just can't provide good service. The truth is all carries have reletively equal issues with call drops, quality etc.. It's hard to believe, but it's true. So for me it comes down to value as a function of what I get for what I pay each month. And Sprint is just really hard to beat in that arena,

Had our bill messed up several times, and could not get them to fix what they promised to fix. Always get name & badge # when talking with customer service and document what they say, for they may not honor it otherwise.

I replaced my Sprint phone after more than two years -- five months after contract requirement expired -- on a Saturday. I didn't use the Sprint phone again. Monday morning early I called and canceled the Sprint. Then I was told that the new month began Saturday (two days before) and that I would have to pay the $45 for this month. I was astounded, and wondered why it was not pro-rated. This, they said, was the contract, and I would pay the $45 -- effectively, $22.50 each for the two days -- whether I thought it just or not.

Unusual to meet a company so casual about abusing and alienating customers. Sprint? Never again. Ever.
