Writes DVD+R and DVR-R at 8X; fast performance, especially for an external burner; nice design; includes hardware and software for Mac and Windows.
THE BAD
No headphone jack; no backup software for Windows.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Need a speedy DVD recorder that's highly portable and compatible with both Windows and Mac? LaCie's d2 Dual 8X fits the bill and looks good doing it.
