i love Firefox and the only fly in the ointment is not being able to send a url link or the web page you're looking at from the mail icon that is on the IE toolbar. with Firefox you have to cut and paste which is an extra step. -

The lack of ActiveX support can get a little annoying, but the "Open in IE" extension fixes that problem easily. I recommend this to everyone. IE can't even begin to compare. -

Bottom line Firefox is the best browser out there. Whether you are a Linux user, Windows user, or a Mac user, Firefox is freely available to you. -

All of this is easily fixable, though, and I switched in the time of the 9.x series. It really all started when Internet eXploader (nicely named thanks to the Registry Editor) crapped up on my favorite Java Chat room. Firefox hadn't topped anywhere near 70 million downloads, and was fairly new. I heard it was better, and I switched. Within that time, the software hasn't crashed on me. Maybe lagged, but never crashed. Tabbed browsing is an excellent feature; I once had 35 tabs open with 256 MB RAM and Windows XL, oh, sorry, XP. I truly enjoyed that moment, and wondered how I ever could do THAT with IEx. I never have to worry about random default resetting, either. After I re-checked my settings for the browser-who's-name-shalt-not-be-mentioned, HTTP 1.1 was disabled (I specifically ENABLED it a year and a half ago). I've had none of the random crashing, even with the GNU Image Manipulation Program (an open-source Photoshop replacement) running and messing with photos. Not even on my 1.5 GHz Celeron. Nothing's perfect, so it's getting a 9 because of the extremely high quality I have experienced in my year and six months of using it. Out of all honesty, though, you shouldn't take my word for it. Try it out yourself and see what happens. As all of these reviews point out, not everyone has the same luck with the installer. If you do install this browser, I wish you the best of luck and smooth transitions.Updated
This FUD thing is going too far. Now Microsoft's crappy firewall is telling me that Firefox is dangerous. In the 6 months I hadn't scanned for Adware or Spyware, only 6 Adware objects showed up (as opposed to an average of ~30 every week with Internet Explorer) and zero spyware, and Macrosoft likes telling me that it's more safe to use IE? Ugh, I was planning on 'nuxing this thing, anyway... If you get a message saying some of the features have been turned off, click unblock. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it will last long enough to report this to somebody!
